What is Gas Safe?

Appliance Install

Why Registration Matters

Illegal gas work puts lives at risk. Always check the card.

It’s The Law

By law, anyone carrying out gas work in your home must be on the Gas Safe Register.

Insurance

Work done by uncertified individuals will likely void your home insurance policy.

Warranty

Boiler manufacturers will not honour warranties if the appliance was not commissioned by a registered engineer.

Safety

Badly fitted appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, and Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

Check The ID Card

When our engineer arrives at your door in Dundee, ask to see their Gas Safe ID card. It is the only way to be sure they are qualified.

1. The Photo

Check the photo on the front of the ID card matches the person standing in front of you.

2. The Date

Check the expiry date. Engineers must renew their registration annually.

3. The Back

Turn the card over. It lists exactly which appliances (e.g., Cookers, Boilers, Fires) that specific engineer is qualified to work on.
